HELPING
WITH THE WORK OF THE
TAY
SAIL TRAINING ASSOCIATION
Volunteers
Operating any charitable organisation
requires volunteers. The TSTA is no different.
The TSTA has a need for volunteers to
help out with training courses and also assisting in the provision
of a sailing experience. Where necessary, training will
be provided for persons wishing to be an assistant instructor.
Helpers are required for both on and off the water.
One of the objectives of the TSTA is
working with selected charities and other organisations to provide a
sailing experience for persons and in particular young persons,
suffering from disabilities or physical illness.
Although the TSTA now own (through the
kind generosity of several local charitable trusts, private
individuals and the National Lottery) a fleet of sailing dinghies,
they also require the use of larger boats on the River Tay to
accommodate sailing for the disabled and persons with a physical
illness.

Dinghies
If you would like to assist in the work
of the TSTA or own a keel boat and would be prepared to give
up some of your time to help in this worthy cause, then please
initially email
convenor@taysail.org with your contact / boat details.

In line with all other
organisations working with young persons and vulnerable adults, volunteers
with the TSTA are required to apply for a Disclosure Statement.
Disclosure applications are processed by
the RTYC Child Protection Officer who in turn utilises the RYA as
the Registered Body for receipt of Disclosure Information.

Donations
If you would like to become involved
with the work of the TSTA through providing financial support, then
your donation will be put to good use in the purchase and
maintenance of our sailing
equipment. No monies
provided by donors goes to pay any staff. All volunteers
helping with the on the water activities are unpaid.
Donations are not used to subsidise any of the training courses.
By the beginning of 2005, the TSTA has
raised over £45,000 towards meeting our aims. This has assisted in
the purchase of our fleet of training dinghies, dedicated
safety boat and additional equipment.
